MartinI bought these boots 3 years ago and I use them as everyday wear. I wear other boots for work but on days off and commuting I pretty much wear these all the time. I have worn these boots for some part of almost every day since I bought them three years ago. First of all they are still going strong. The only repair I have done is to glue down the little piece of sole that curves up the front of the toe as it started to peel at one corner. The soles obviously don't have as much tread as they used to but the body of the shoe is bombproof (not literally, don't try and test this) The boots were comfortable and light as soon as I put them on and they have remained so ever since. they fit like a trainer but with ankle support, they are very light. They were pretty waterproof when I first got them but they aren't now. They are made of a softshell fabric which is water resistant and I guess they would have been treated with something too. They DO NOT have a waterproof membrane like Gortex so unless they are reproofed and clean they WILL NOT be waterproof. In normal day to day use with rain around town they are fine but going up on the fells in wet weather I would expect to get wet feet. I am currently re-proofing the fabric with some nikwax and will see how that goes. To be fair though the boots are 3 years old and have been worn EVERY SINGLE DAY. I was so impressed with the these boots that I went into Trespass in Ambleside yesterday to see if they still make/sell them and was pleased they do as I was going to get a fresher pair. Unfortunately they are now more than twice what I paid for them and when I tried them on the fit seems much narrower, so much so that I decided not to bother. (maybe my feet got fat) So I would highly recommend these boots is you want an every day shoe and you like this style and you aren't too bothered about wading in puddles but I would wait to see if they drop the price again.
DavidI had a pair of reasonable walking boots already, but as they were bought in the Middle East, they were not waterproof, so when I saw these on sale in store, I was really pleased. They are light, comfortable and warm, however after today's walk through a field, they are certainly not waterproof - which is disappointing as that was the purpose of buying them. Had they been advertised as showerproof or splash proof, fair enough, but waterproof suggests that my feet will not get wet.
PaulThere great for £62.49 at the discounted price, i normaly wear addidas, nike or rebock for a casual trainer but these are so much better in quality and not everyone wears them so its nice to have something in the same sort of style as your average trainer
Jamie WWell these boots certainly aren't waterproof, they soak up water like a sponge. I was so pleased when I first bought these boots (three weeks ago), have done a fair few miles in them and they were great, really comfortable and light weight, felt like wearing trainers. Today I found out they can barely withstand a shower or a shallow puddle....disappointed for sure!!
Kevin LeeMy old boots had started rubbing so needed a new pair to tackle the Three Peaks Challenge. (We chose to do it in three days though, not 24 hours, initially coz my 12 year old son was also joining us, but mainly coz I'm old, fat and unfit!) These boots have coped with everything thrown at them in training and for the challenge itself. As light and comfortable as trainers/running shoes but as supportive as my old traditional boots. Can not recommend them highly enough! Thank you Trespass!
Wayne IPHubby has had these Boots for over 12 months and proving to be a very good investment. They are very comfortable and to date have not had any waterproofing issues.
CasparI bought these boots (fortunately they were on sale) and they started falling apart after just a couple of months. Also, they are not waterproof, which I found out after just a few days. The person in the store who sold them to me assured me that they were waterproof but my feet were wet after just walking through wet grass. Very poor quality for such a price tag.
Steven BStraight out of the box I have walked 43 miles over a long weekend. I have had no issues at all with the fit of these boots. No blisters or rubbing at all. I'm very impressed.
As for the waterproofing, I have walked 12 miles today through long wet grass and muddy fields. My feet did become saturated in time but I'd be surprised if any boot would have stood up to that amount of water.
Out of the wetlands the boots shed the squelchy stuff quickly and became comfortable again.
For £60 I doubt there's a better boot for me. Perfect for light hikes and long walks.
AnnBrought for my son, he says they are the most comfortable pair of boots he has ever worn. He has walked in them twice in preparation for a summer expedition, first time his feet got wet, brought some waterproofing from Trespass, walked in them and again feet got wet. Conclusion - boots not waterproof at all. Additionally, soles starting to peel away from the upper boot where it curls onto the front of the boot. Have phoned the store and am taking them back tomorrow. Will not be exchanging them for another pair.

JamesIn the early days of having these boots all seemed fine, comfy and built for my needs,8 months in and this is where the story ends..
Negotiating light terrain the front soles have come off, disappointed to say the least as I'd grown fond of them.
Light dutes for these people.

thomasThese boots felt really good wearing. Did a couple of 20mile hikes in them and didn't feel a thing. Well priced pair and great waterproofing. Would say though that my feet sweated a lot in them and the rubber toe lips are peeled off a bit but not compromised the shoe itself.
mark edwardsi have seen the boots in the shop and thought they looked and felt comfy but it was`nt until they came a wet weekend in Buxton that i decided to buy them , it also helped that they had been reduced in price by £50.
But after wearing them i can honestly say they are the most comfy boot i have ever owned , it`s like walking on marshmallows and to top it all they are waterproof amazing .... well done Trespass
AdamHad these boots for just over a year, both soles have began peeling off the boots. Did not stay waterproof for long at all. However, i will say these boots are very comfortable, and providing you don't use these boots for anything more than brief walks on gentle hills they should be ok. I used these boots in less than extreme conditions and they are wrecked.

EddI bought a pair of these boots after admiring them for a couple of months. Best decision I've ever made! They are the most comfortable and lightweight boot I've ever worn. I wear them all day, everyday, for work, and also for hiking, so they get plenty of use, and are still in perfect condition. A very wise investment!
PhilThese are the lightest boots i've ever worn. With the waterproof membrane and vibram sole, they're a way above average approach shoe.
