Product Manager (E-Commerce)


Trespass are looking for a Product Manager (E-Commerce) to manage multiple storefronts on an open-source retail platform (Magento) with the help of external development agencies.  You will manage the regular platform releases and deliver to business stakeholders such as Marketing, Customer Support and Security teams.

Your job will be to support the ecommerce teams by ensuring ongoing functionality with bugs and updates being managed effectively.

An ideal candidate would have a background in product management of an open-source technology stack (preferably Magento) with the tactical knowhow of the back-end functionality of a modern e-commerce engine.

 

Core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Accountable for the successful operation of the e-commerce platform
  • Control a release management process to address bugs, develop new features and launch additional storefronts.
  • Coordinate between the development agencies and e-commerce teams
  • Manage platform releases from start to finish ensuring secure and stable storefronts
  • Managing work guided by changing priorities
  • Writing effective specifications explaining feature requests with a detailed breakdown of desired functionality
  • Managing all aspects of the project lifecycle including project planning, resource planning, release planning, supplier management, and scope management
  • Understanding of user behaviour to ensure a user-cantered approach for all feature enhancements
  • Monitoring external agencies spending ensuring ongoing value for money.

 

About you:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in management of an ecommerce platform (preferably Magento)
  • A degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Broad technical knowledge of applications, infrastructure, methods and tools
  • Hands-on experience as an e-commerce developer or development team (Beneficial)
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills with a strong ability to communicate business problems, alternatives and project strategy
  • Contract negotiation and service management experience (Beneficial)
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to embrace change
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong presentation skills
