We are constantly using our hands on a daily basis. Washing your face in the morning, putting your clothes on, typing on your phone or work computer, repeatedly washing your hands throughout the day, continually squeezing anti-bac onto both palms after sneezing, touching doors or certain objects – you get the gist, you know the drill.
The skin on the top of your hands is much thinner than anywhere else on your body meaning that they lose the natural moisturising oils and need to be replenished. It’s also one of the first places that you start to see the appearance of dryness and wrinkles. These are the very reasons why we have to look after our hands as well as we do our face. Yes, it really is a handful (see what I did there) no, but really, once you’re in the routine of putting on your night cream for your face, you’ll automatically do the same with your hands and eventually, it’ll become second nature.

What is hand salve?
With the excessive hand washing at present, salve will be a helping hand. Hand salve is thicker than traditional hand creams or lotions. It is made using wax, normally with bees wax, essential oils and natural ingredients which are known to soothe and moisturise. As most salves are herbal, the scent will be derived from the essential oils used – we have opted for hibiscus which is both fresh and fruity and will leave your hands feeling hydrated and nicely fragranced. Win win.
What are the benefits of hand salve?
- Repairs damaged skin
- Heals dry and cracked skin
- Younger looking hands
- Helps to strengthen your nails
When should you apply hand salve?
If you have been exposed to extreme weather conditions from being outdoors on a ski or hiking holiday, we would recommend taking hand salve with you on your trip – you won’t regret it.
Top Trespass Tip – If you are working with your hands all day e.g. nurse or warehouse worker, we would suggest a little hand salve or cream to keep your hands healthy and happy.
