TRNSMT Festival 2019: All You Need To Know

After a blockbuster 2018, TRNSMT Festival is returning to the city centre of Glasgow in July 2019.

As the biggest music festival in Scotland – T in the Park – continues its hiatus, the organisers are going ahead with the non-camping alternative TRNSMT again next year to ensure that music lovers won’t miss out.

The popular new festival trialled a 5-day run over two weekends in 2018 but will go back to a 3-day stint in one weekend for the 2019 edition.

When is TRNSMT 2019?

July 12-14

Where is TRNSMT Festival?

Glasgow Green

What’s the Line Up?

TRNSMT 2018 was jam-packed with rock legends, worldwide superstars and British newcomers, with each of the 5 headliners bringing something unique to the main stage.

Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Queen + Adam Lambert, and The Killers all headlined the festival, while other huge acts like The Script, The Courteneers and Franz Ferdinand took to the stage.

2018 also saw the festival extend its King Tut’s Stage to host emerging live acts, including Pale Waves, Ramz and Sigrid, over the two weekends, so we assume that the second stage will only be bigger in 2019.

The full line-up for TRNSMT 2019 hasn’t been announced yet and will likely start to be revealed during the winter months, and we cannot wait to see who is playing for its third year.

How to get TRNSMT tickets?

Tickets for TRNSMT 2019 have not went on general sale yet so we cannot confirm if the prices have changed, however they might well have given its increasing popularity.

Earlybird 3-day ticket packages went on sale shortly after the 2018 festival and sold out within just four days.

The 3-day packages were priced at £155 for General Admission and £240 for VIP, which are the same prices as before.

With VIP, you’ll have access to an exclusive chill out zone away from all of the crowds, with its own bar and food area, seats and upgraded flushing toilets. Oooh, flushing!

Fingers crossed the prices don’t change too much in price if they do go up at all.

What To Take With You

While the festival isn’t camping, you will still need to take a few essentials along as they’ll be pretty long days outdoors – and you can never anticipate the conditions in Scotland.

TRNSMT 2019 is taking place in the second weekend of July, which has a pretty strong track record of being sunny (hence why T in the Park always fell on that weekend), although you can never be too safe.

Dress for the sun, sure, but it’s best to take a packaway waterproof jacket that can clip onto your bag or belt, or even a festival packaway poncho just in case it rains.

We wouldn’t recommend dolly shoes or your whitest new trainers as even if it’s sunny, the mud will be rampant. Boots are always a good shout!

On the other hand, don’t forget to pack some sunscreen in case you are lucky enough to get a scorcher – you don’t want to be left red faced…

What Else Can I Do At TRNSMT?

There will be food trucks and bars within the festival site, Glasgow Green, but just across the road from the Green is the Templeton Building, modelled on the famous Doge’s Palace in Venice, which houses a German brewery offering great Bratwurst and Hefeweisse to enjoy in their large beer garden.

Back towards the centre your choices are plenty with bars and eateries all over.

One option that’s at the top of the tasty scale yet requiring very little ‘dough’ is Paesano Pizza – voted one of the UK’s top pizza places.

If you want to keep the Indie music vibe going then head to Broadcast on Sauchiehall Street for pints in the bar up top or more live music/club nights below.

Don’t miss the opportunity to turn your next festival experience in to a mini city adventure.

Keep an eye out for tickets going on sale and good luck! It’ll be a blast.
