TRNSMT Festival Guide 2019

After a blockbuster 2018, TRNSMT Festival will be returning to Glasgow Green on Friday 12th July 2019.

As the biggest music festival in Scotland – the legendary T in the Park – continues its hiatus, the organisers are going ahead with the non-camping alternative once again this year.

The new TRNSMT festival trialled a 5-day run over two weekends in 2018 and after a roaring success, will be coming back for more in mid-July.

So, when is TRNSMT 2019?

Friday 12th July – Sunday 14th July 2019 from 12 pm each day.

Where is TRNSMT Festival?

Glasgow Green, a park in the East End of Glasgow.

Who is playing at TRNSMT 2019?

The headliners for this year’s TRNSMT festival include Stormzy, Years & Years, Bastille, George Ezra and Snow Patrol to name a few. The full line-up is jam-packed with rock legends, worldwide superstars and British newcomers spread across three stages over the weekend.

This year will also see the launch of the brand new Queen Tut’s stage which has been formed with the vow to “help close the gender play gap”. This stage will feature a whole host of solely female artists deemed to be some of the best emerging acts the country has to offer, and will hopefully pave the way for a new generation of female headliners.

How much are TRNSMT tickets?

Standard tickets can be bought for 1-day, 2-days or a full weekend pass at £59.50, £105 and £155 respectively. These will give you access to the main festival arena from 12 pm each day.

VIP tickets can also be purchased at £109 for 1-day, £205 for 2 and £270 for the full weekend. With these you’ll receive a glass of bubbly on arrival each day, a separate VIP entrance, access to the exclusive chill-out zone away from the arena, a VIP bar and food area and to top it all off, upgraded flushing toilets!

What should I take with me to TRNSMT?

While the festival isn’t camping, it’s a good idea to take a few essentials with you. Although they will fly by, the festival days are very long and you will need some just-in-case things to keep you covered.

July tends to have a strong track record of being sunny, but as TRNSMT is in Scotland, you can never be sure. Make sure to check the weather before going and plan accordingly.

You should dress for the sun of course (if it’s expected), but it’s also smart to take a waterproof packaway jacket or festival poncho to clip on your belt or bag.

Obviously, at festivals, fashion takes priority – but we really wouldn’t recommend wearing your favourite pumps or brand new white trainers. Even if it’s sunny, the mud will still be rampant. Walking boots or old sneakers are always a good shout, or a pair of men’s wellies or women’s wellies if you’d rather stay on the safe side.

Don’t forget to pack sun cream too, in the rare case of a scorcher. You don’t want the risk of not being able to return on day 2 because of sunstroke!
