Company Overview:

Trespass are a prize winning outdoor clothing company with its headquarters based near the city centre of Glasgow. To allow the business to continue their growth online, we are looking for an Online Content Copywriter to join our Ecommerce team.

The ideal person will have a firm grasp of the written word, can demonstrate strong time management skills & will be a people person who isn’t afraid of asking questions to get the information they need to get their job done. Having a retail background will be an advantage, as will experience in optimising content for Search Engine Optimisation and knowledge of consumer psychology & the part that the written work plays in converting website browsers to buyers.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Generate product descriptions for the Trespass product catalogue, demonstrating a clear knowledge of our products and writing persuasive content to excite our customers.
  • Work closely with our Visual Merchandiser to ensure that all website products have product descriptions written.
  • Show commercial awareness, working with the Visual Merchandiser and Web Merchandising team to identify key products and categories throughout the year, and optimising product descriptions appropriately.
  • Generate engaging content for our marketing emails, working with our Email Marketing Specialist to maximise open rates and click through rates.
  • Working with our marketing calendar, generate blog content to compliment & support marketing campaigns.
  • Consistently apply brand tone of voice guidelines to all written copy.
  • Use web analytics to measure the performance of our website and blog content.
  • Working with our Digital Designers, generate written copy for our home page banners, ensuring that we are showing relevant content at the right time.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the various components of the E-commerce operation.
  • Take ownership for creating appropriate schedules and reports to ensure transparency and relevant communication to all stakeholders.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the E-commerce Management Team.
  • Priorities daily and weekly workload accordingly and work to desired timescales.
  • Take pride in achieving excellent standards in all your duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a positive and motivated attitude while being professional at all times.


Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate is likely to have/demonstrate;

  • Efficient online copy-writing and editorial skills (basic Knowledge of HTML is an advantage)
  • Keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Self-motivated with strong personal time management & problem solving skills
  • Marketing/journalism/graphics degree or equivalent
