The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations (2013) requires distributors (including retailers) in the UK to provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge.

Why recycle?

Unwanted electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) is currently the UK’s fastest growing type of waste, with over 1.2 million tonnes of waste being produced every year. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, therefore reducing the amount of these items being incinerated or sent to landfill where there is the potential for toxins to put communities at risk.
