BALACLAVA FAQS
IS IT ILLEGAL TO WEAR A BALACLAVA IN PUBLIC
In the UK, it is not against the law to wear masks, face scarves, balaclavas, etcetera in public – even if you are attempting to conceal your identity. What is illegal, however, is the refusal to remove or hand them over when asked to do so by an officer.
Please note that there have been mask bans put in place in the past, such as during riots, and this is not to say that it won’t happen again.
WHAT IS THE BEST USE FOR A BALACLAVA?
Balaclavas can be used for any sports and in any conditions, but are most commonly worn during high-speed pursuits or in extreme weather. For example, a balaclava would be a great addition to glacier skiing, desert snowboarding and anything in between.
Motorcycle balaclavas are often worn for maximum comfort, whereas a ski mask balaclava is most notably used to keep you warm – there are many different balaclavas suited to many different activities. You could even wear a black balaclava for Halloween as a burglar mask, robber mask, ninja balaclavas and more.
WHAT IS THE BEST BALACLAVA FOR SKIING?
As skiing demands hard work, the best balaclava for skiing would be a breathable one, crafted from naturally sweat-wicking material such as merino wool. Antibacterial technicalities are a bonus too, keeping you fresh during fast-paced high-intensity performance. We recommend a ski mask that covers all but your eyes, to ensure maximum protection from the elements.
