Now all you need to do is use your head and pick your favourite.
Yes. You should always wear a helmet when you are skiing – and any other high-speed sports, for that matter (including snowboarding). Even if it is not a law of the country you happen to be skiing in, it is always highly recommended and has been proven to significantly reduce the risk of injury, and even death.
Ski helmets are often regarded as the most important piece of ski equipment – aside from the skis themselves, naturally. Helmets have proven their worth in preventing relatively minor injuries, with studies showing that wearing one can reduce your risk of serious brain injury and death. This is because majority of the impact is absorbed by the helmet, rather than your head or brain.
Much like any other ski gear, a ski helmet or snowboard helmet should be replaced every 3 to 5 years, if there’s any visible fracture damage or after a crash. This is due to performance technicalities and features reducing in quality, protection and performance over time and use.
